Board of Research Studies

As per MUHS direction bearing circular no. 20/2018 dated 20.11.2018, and 22/2018 dated 05.12.2018, the institute has reconstituted the Board of Research Studies (BORS) dated 29.11.2018. It is a committee responsible for overseeing and guiding research activities, particularly PG studies. It typically handles matters related to research regulations, approval of research proposals, supervision, and the overall progress of research programs.

Functions of BORS

• The BORS establishes and enforces policies and regulations related to research activities, supervision, and the conduct of research.
• They review and approve research proposals submitted by UG/PG nursing students, ensuring they meet the required standards and align with the MUHS guidelines.
• The BORS recommends eligible teachers to MUHS for guide approval after reviewing their credentials.
• The BORS advise and encourage the teachers to take-up research in emerging areas at individual and group level.
• They monitor the progress of research programs, providing guidance and support to researchers.
• Promotion of inter-disciplinary research programs by co-ordinating amongst teachers and also to make & articulate policies for sharing of research and development infrastructure.
• Assisting the teachers, scholars and other staff in publishing research journals, articles, paper presentation, and other activities related to IPR.
• Assisting teachers or research scholars in fund raising for enhancing research activities.
• Writing research proposal for grants.
• Working on budget for research activities of the institute.
• Encouraging nursing students, research scholars, teachers and other people to promote, adopt and participate in the basic and applied research projects.
• Undertake research related tasks as may be assigned by the university authorities.
