Mentor Mentee Scheme
Mentoring is a system of semi-structured guidance whereby one person shares their knowledge, skills and experience to assist others to progress in their own lives and careers. Therefore, we have come-up with Mentor & Mentee (MM) Schemeduring 2018 to establish mentoring activities between teachers &nursing students.
MM scheme pairs our mentor/teacher with mentee/nursing student to provide guidance, support, and knowledge transfer. The scheme aims to help mentees navigate challenges, develop skills, and achieve their goals.
Aim
To promote personal and academic welfare of the students
Objectives
- To promote mentoring relationship between mentor and mentee and to encourage the activities of both the parties
- To expose the mentee to role models so as to learn through the success of mentors
- To enhance mentee’s educational, social and personal growth through learning from the experiences of mentors

Roles and Responsibilities
- Mentor: Provides guidance, support, and encouragement to the mentee, builds trust, and serves as a positive role model.
- Mentee: Actively engages with the mentor, seeks guidance, and takes responsibility for their own development.
Functions of Mentor; he /she should be -
- Offer an outside perspective on development
- Listen confidentially to the things that are worrying about profession
- Help sharing their own experience of both failure and success
- Give friendly, unbiased support
- Provide honest and constructive feedback
Process of mentor mentee meeting
- Mentor should to fix a date, time & venue for meeting
- Discuss the agenda on stress related events and academic issues and to promote psychological, social & academic development.
- Mentor should use data sheet to record the minutes of mentor & mentee interactions.
- Prior intimation regarding date & time of next MM meeting.
- Submit the mentoring report to convener of MM Scheme
