Mid-course improvement focuses on enhancing student performance throughout the academic year. It involves continuous monitoring, identifying students who need extra support, and implementing various interventions to help them improve This includes ongoing assessments, feedback, and potentially special programs or mentoring to address learning gaps.
Hence, opportunities are given by the institute for midcourse-improvement in academic performance of nursing students who show fluctuating performance in the academics and those with long absenteeism due to medical reasons.
Mid-improvementof our institute includes special classes for such students and give them assignments to make-up their syllabus. Our teachers assess them frequently, and constructive feedback is given for their encouragement and better performance. Following is the list of specific interventions /initiatives provided by our teachers for midcourse improvement of performance of students:
Our teachers focus on timely administration of test, assignments, internal examinations, evaluation and other activities related to assessment of students. The time table/ examination schedule is prepared well in advance and communicated to the students through web-site and college notice board These time tables are strictly followed by the departmental staff.
After in-time administration of CIE, the teaching staff from respective department will complete the evaluation process within a week. The results are displayed on the college notice board & web-site. In addition, the answer sheets will be shown to the students and their feedback shall be obtained from each student for improvisation.
Special efforts are taken for the students those who couldn’t take up assignments or tests due to genuine reasons especially on health background. However, opportunities were given to such students through makeup assignments / tests / re-tests etc.
Remedial support is given to the students those who belonged to the group of slow learners and the students of missed the learning sessions due to some reasons. They shall be provided support through mentoring, lectures, skill lab activities, counseling, and other supportive measures. They include:
