Amravati city also known as ‘Ambanagari’, a regional headquarter of Amravati Division; an educational hub in the state of Maharashtra together with its historical and political advancements. It is the 8thmost populous metropolitan city in Maharashtra state. Literally meaning “the city of immortals” has long history;tradition links it to the abode of goddess ‘Amba’ (mother), whose shrine is located here. Amba Devi Temple, a place from where Lord Krishna eloped with Rukhmini from the venue of wedding ceremony. It was the capital of legendary Vidarbha Janapada; the name of capital city, Kundinapura is still preserved in the form of a place called Koundinyapur.
One Buddhist vihara and some incomplete rock-hewn carved caves are the highlights of Amravati Division. The modern district of Amravati is famous for the launch of ‘’Project Tiger’’ in tribal belt of Dharani, Melghat where a beautiful resort, museum and camping managed by the forest department of Maharashtra.
The college is located in the heart of Amravati city. it is governed by Executive Council, Shri Shivaji Education Society and Local Managing Committee (LMC) of Dr. PDNI. The institute is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nasik,MSBNPEMumbai, MNC Mumbai, and Indian Nursing Council New Delhi.
On entering the campus, one would be enthralled by the beautiful trees, flowering plants and huge multi-storied building;spread over more than 40000 square feet built up area with spacious and well-ventilated teaching and administrative blocks. Natural place in the campus provides a calm and serene atmosphere which is very pleasant, healthy and stimulating in every sense.
It is the only institute offers PG courses in nursing education at Amravati district. The other courses offered are: Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM), General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), Basic B. Sc. Nursing, and Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing.
